Site of the Month: Moral Outcry

Site of the Month is a collection of featured sites that I think are worth visiting often.

Moral Outcry is the blog of Bound4LIFE International, the prayer movement for the ending of abortion. The blog is managed by my good friend Ian Kelly (describes himself as Moral Outcry’s “arm chair pundit”), who, might I add, is quite a witty fellow with a great prowess for humor.

Moral Outcry is chocked full amazing blogs from many different pro-life writers across the US. I find the posts to be a great wealth of encouragement to me in the fight against abortion, as well as creating a great community with which to bounce ideas off others and share relevant experiences.

Here are some of my favorite blog-posts:

What does it mean to be sober?

…and so I’m sick. Fortunately, it’s not too bad of a sickness just a simple cold + allergies. One good thing about staying home sick is that I’ve had a lot of time to think. Sometimes that blessing can be accounted as a curse, but in this case it has been good to think. I’ve been thinking about what it means to be fully ‘awake’ and ‘sober.’ There are many scriptures that speak of being sober, walking circumspectly etc, but this one describes it best:

1 Thess. 5: 6 “Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. 7 For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk jare drunk at night. 8 But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation. 9 For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ…”

Does this mean that we are to spend our time and effort with knowledge that people are going to hell and this Age will be soon coming to an end; not wasting time with things like TV shows, entertainment, etc?

Let me know your thoughts on what it means to be sober and awake!
